How Do I Teach?
My Teaching Tools

Sensorial Activities
Research has established that incorporating at least three senses into a learning activity can significantly enhance information retention. Therefore, I frequently employ sensory materials in my teaching methods, like writing with their fingers on a salt tray to effectively demonstrate the concept of odd and even numbers to students.

ESL Techniques
Incorporating physical movement into ESL lessons is indeed a highly effective technique. It can range from students forming shapes with their bodies, such as a triangle, to more active exercises like walking around the classroom. Even stepping outside for a real-world exploration of numerical sequences, like house numbers, can be beneficial. Physical activity not only energizes the students but also helps cement the learning material, making the educational experience more dynamic and effective. Engaging the body is a powerful way to engage the mind.

Accelerated Learning Method: Suggestopedia
The renowned psychiatrist Dr. Georgi Lozanov did indeed conduct research that suggests the use of background classical music during lessons can enhance and accelerate learning. This approach, often referred to as suggestopedia, is designed to create a more relaxed and focused learning environment. By incorporating calm music into your teaching strategy, you’re applying a method that aligns with his findings. It’s a wonderful application of educational psychology to improve student engagement and retention.

Educational Technologies
Leveraging educational resources is a key strategy in enhancing the learning experience. By presenting information in a more meaningful way, you not only capture the students’ attention but also foster the development of their digital competencies. This approach ensures that students are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants in the digital age, equipped with the skills necessary for success. Some technological resources that I use:
Kahoot, Padlet, Math99, Quizziz, Wordwall, Canva,.

Mind Games
Scientific studies indeed suggest that engaging in mind games can have a positive impact on academic success. These games are known to enhance cognitive functions such as analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and concentration, which are crucial for academic achievement. By incorporating mind games into your lessons, you’re not only making learning more interactive and enjoyable but also fostering a stimulating environment that encourages the development of these essential skills. I integrate mind games like Othello and Mangala into my curriculum to bolster these skills, and overall academic achievement.”

Story Telling and Reading
Accessible reading materials enhance children’s concentration, comprehension of concepts, and ability to make connections. Storytelling activities stimulate their imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Individuals with proficient reading abilities often demonstrate higher academic success. To capitalize on this scientific insight, I incorporate story cubes and wordless picture books into my lessons, allocating time for students to craft their own narratives using these tools.

Educational Materials
To enhance the students’ understanding of abstract concepts, I employ a variety of resources. Additionally, the utilization of these resources keeps students actively involved in the learning process.

Drill and Practice
Through repeated drills and practice, students are encouraged to engage with new information frequently, leading to the retention of knowledge over a longer period.
